Since 2009, FireSide Hearth & Home has been providing fireplace sales and installation services to the Detroit area. Our business has grown from the original showroom in Utica to two additional showrooms in Canton and Royal Oak. We offer a wide variety of gas, electric, and wood-burning fireplaces, inserts, and stoves along with grills and mantels. All of our installers have been certified by the National Fireplace Institute (NFI) and will guarantee that you are completely satisfied with both the product and the installation job. Not only are we proud to serve the Detroit area, but we are also proud residents of Detroit as well. We would like to share with you a few of our favorite attractions in this area.
COMERICA PARK
Hosting not only a baseball park, Comerica Park is also home to a baseball museum and a theme park. Visitors will find a carousel, a ferris wheel, and a huge water feature in center field. If you visit during baseball season, you can catch a game of the Detroit Tigers.
MOTOWN MUSEUM
Housed in the small shingle-clad building that was occupied from 1957 to 1972 by a recording studio, visitors can tour the actual studio where Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, and others produced hit records featuring the Motown sound. You will learn all about the history of this record label at this museum.
HENRY FORD ATTRACTIONS
To learn about the famous automaker who made his home in Detroit, you can visit a couple of places in the area. Fair Lane is his former estate and features a powerhouse hydropower plant that allowed the estate its own independence to produce its own light, heat, and power. Offering an exhibit of the development of American life and the technological advances from the pioneer days to the present, the Henry Ford Museum features over 200 automobiles, including the first Ford and the car in which John F. Kennedy was shot, and the first steam locomotive of 1829. Also at this location, you will find Greenfield Village, an open-air museum with around 100 historical American buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, including a railroad station and a school.
DETROIT INSTITUTE OF ARTS
Featuring a cross-section that represents the artistic creation of man from the earliest cultures to present day, the Detroit Institute of Arts has a permanent collection that includes art from Africa, Oceania, and the Indigenous Americas; classical antiquity from the Middle East; collections from medieval Europe; and American art and culture.
